Experienced Real Property Tax Appeal Lawyers
The law firm of Brandt, Steinberg, Lewis & Blond LLP has represented properties of every size and description throughout New York City for nearly 85 years. Our practice is concentrated in real estate assessment matters, seeking reductions for owners of commercial and multifamily residential properties. We also represent claimants in eminent domain proceedings as well as applicants for real estate tax exemptions and abatements (J-51, ICAP, etc.).
Our firm was founded during the Great Depression by Peter Brandt, and our current team of lawyers has carried his tradition of excellence into the 21 st century. Our representation extends to all aspects of the assessment process. We appear before administrative review boards, such as the NYC Tax Commission, and communicate with assessors on behalf of our clients. When satisfactory results are not achieved at the administrative level, we prosecute judicial proceedings and seek favorable resolution in court.
Our fees are contingent upon success at a mutually agreed upon percentage of the tax benefits achieved.
Our firm presently consists of seven attorneys with extensive experience.
